The TCF Canada is a French proficiency test from France Éducation International, accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for immigration applications. It has four parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Listening and reading are multiple choice, 39 questions each, scored out of 699; writing and speaking are marked by examiners from 0 to 20.
IRCC converts each skill's score to an NCLC level (the French CLB). For NCLC 7 you need 458 in listening, 453 in reading and 10 in writing and speaking; NCLC 9 needs 523, 524 and 14. FreeTCF uses this chart to show your CLB as soon as you submit a test.
The listening and reading questions are provided by our partner Réussir TCF Canada and organized by test format and A1–C2 level; FreeTCF adds explanations, transcripts with translation and key vocabulary to every question. Monthly writing and speaking predictions are compiled from test takers' feedback. FreeTCF is not an official product and is not affiliated with France Éducation International or IRCC.
